Hi, We're Michaela & Ashli

We are the A&M behind AM Collective and we've known each other since we were little. We grew up as unofficial sisters but unfortunately drifted apart for a good decade or so until Michaela's parents conveniently moved right next door to Ashli.

We had both recently quit our careers and weren't quite sure what to do next. Michaela's parents suggested that we look into Clinton Row, a local business incubator. Our very first shop opened in November of 2019 in the very creepy basement of the old building and featured a single shelf and a chair. We had no business plan and absolutely no clue how to run a business, but we had plenty to bring to the table.

Michaela learned how to embroider from her Nana when she was younger so she started to incorporate her modern embroidery hoop art into the store. She has since branched into wall hangings, bead art (her mask chains were a hit!), and punch needle art.

Ashli had been painting since she could write, so she brought in some of her previous work. She picked up her watercolors for the first time since college and took advantage of her time at home during the early days of the pandemic to start painting pet portraits. We carry several of her watercolor painting series and stationery, and she also creates unique polymer clay earrings and accessories.

When we reopened after quarantine in 2020, we were on the first floor and had way more room and foot traffic. We were both thrift-aholics and had been collecting vintage clothing and home decor for a long time, so we decided to bring in some vintage clothes to sell. They quickly became our bestseller!

Since then, we have added some wonderful artwork to the shop by our talented friends Lauren with LC Pyrography, Katherine Baker, Lyndsey with Luna Moth Candle, Kaitlin with 1918 Design Company, Jess with Paige Originals and Taylor with Wild Fern Designs. We even carry a local children's book, Back World, by Lane Polak.

Our newest member is Brittany with Reckless Reclamation Vintage who supplies us with all of her funky vintage home good finds. And we have several clothing consigners who help us fill our own closets as well as our store racks.

We are so grateful for our little creative community that we've created along the way and we are so thrilled to see our business grow and flourish. AM Collective has become a true collective of talented friends who support each other. Thank you so much for supporting our dream and all of the people who make up AM Collective.
